Sending a Parcel Between Pakistani Cities: Bus, Courier or a Trusted Agent?

By the TaskBridge team · 17 October 2026 · 7 min read · اردو میں پڑھیں

Almost everyone in Pakistan has a parcel story. A box that arrived a week late. A package that came damaged. A relative who “handed it to a driver” and never heard back. When the parcel holds a gift, a document, medicine or an item you paid for, a mistake is more than an inconvenience.

A parcel is only as safe as the people who handle it at each end.

The hard part is usually not the journey. It is the two ends: who packs it properly, who hands it over, and who collects it. This guide compares the common ways to send a parcel between cities, and explains how a verified person can handle both ends for you.

Send it without the worry

Your options for sending a parcel

Three ways to send a parcel: bus, courier van and a trusted agent
Bus cargo, a courier company, or a verified agent who hands it to either one.

Bus or van cargoA quick transfer on routes the bus runs; collected from a terminalLimited tracking, handling varies, and the receiver must collect it. Always get a booking slip.
A courier company (door-to-door delivery companies)Door-to-door delivery with a tracking number and clear rulesUsually costs more, has size and weight limits, and some items are not accepted.
A traveller or “friend of a friend”Small, low-value items between people who know each other wellNo receipt, no record, and nobody responsible if it is lost.
A verified agent handing it overSomeone to collect, check, pack and photograph it, and give it to the carrier you chooseThe agent does not run the bus or courier, so the carrier’s speed and handling are outside their control.

Rates, times and rules change. Check the carrier’s current terms before you send.

Packing and sending tips

  1. Check what the carrier accepts. Do not send anything it does not allow.
  2. Use a strong box and fill empty space so items cannot move.
  3. Mark fragile items clearly, and wrap them separately.
  4. Seal it well. Do not tape over the address label.
  5. Write the receiver’s name, phone number and full address with a landmark, on the outside and on a note inside.
  6. Photograph the items and the sealed parcel before you hand it over.
  7. Keep the receipt, booking slip or tracking number.
  8. Tell the receiver which carrier is bringing it, the booking or tracking number, and where to collect it.
  9. Do not send cash. For valuables, use a carrier with a receipt and tracking.
  10. Ask the receiver to confirm that it arrived, and to check it before they sign or leave the counter.

Common problems and scams

Why tips alone are not enough when you are far away

Good packing and a receipt help, but you still have to be there to check the items, seal the box, photograph it and take it to the right counter. If you are in another city, or abroad, you cannot do any of it, so you end up trusting a stranger to do it right. That gap in trust is where most parcel problems begin.

What closes the gap is a person on the ground you can rely on, with proof of everything they do.

How TaskBridge helps

TaskBridge connects you with local agents who can handle your parcel at either end. Every agent’s mobile number, CNIC and live selfie are checked before they can accept a task. See exactly what we check. The service is run by TaskBridge Digital Services (SMC-Private) Limited, a company registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Corporate Unique Identification No. 0360229.

An agent can:

Four steps: post a task, the agent collects and packs, hands it to the carrier, and you track it to delivery
Post a task, the agent collects and packs, hands it to the carrier, and you follow it to delivery.

Two ways to get your agent

Choose your own agent

Open Agents near you or Search Agents, filter by the kind of task, and sort by nearest, top rated, most experienced or least busy. Open a profile to see ratings and completed tasks, then message the agent directly.

Post a task and let one accept

Describe the job, the place and the time. Verified agents near that place can see your task and accept it, and you can chat with the agent before anything starts.

How it works

  1. Open TaskBridge and post a task: what to send, where to collect it, the carrier you prefer, and the receiver’s details.
  2. A verified agent nearby accepts the task, or you choose an agent yourself from the nearby list.
  3. The agent collects the parcel, checks it, packs it and sends you photos.
  4. The agent hands it to the bus or courier and sends you the booking slip or tracking number.
  5. The receiver confirms it arrived, and you rate the service.

Frequently asked questions

Can someone send my parcel to another city for me?

Yes. A verified agent can collect the parcel from you, a seller or a shop, check it by sight, pack and photograph it, and hand it to the bus or courier service you choose, then send you the receipt or tracking number.

Is it better to send a parcel by bus or by courier?

It depends on what you are sending. Courier services usually offer door-to-door delivery with a tracking number, while bus cargo is often a quick transfer collected from a terminal. Rates, times and rules change, so check the carrier's current terms, and use a service with a receipt and tracking for anything valuable.

Can an agent collect a parcel for me at the other end?

Yes. If a parcel arrives at a bus terminal or courier office in your city, an agent can collect it and deliver it to your door.

How will I know my parcel was sent?

The agent shares photos of the sealed parcel and the booking slip or tracking number in the in-app chat, so you have proof of dispatch.

Is it safe to send cash or valuables in a parcel?

We advise against sending cash. For valuables, use a carrier that gives a receipt and tracking, keep the booking details, and follow the carrier's rules on what it accepts.

How are TaskBridge agents verified?

Every agent's mobile number, CNIC and live selfie are checked before they can accept a task. The full list is on our verification page.

Is TaskBridge a registered company?

Yes. TaskBridge is operated by TaskBridge Digital Services (SMC-Private) Limited, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Corporate Unique Identification No. 0360229.

The bottom line

The safest parcel is one that is checked, packed, photographed and handed over with a receipt. When you cannot do it yourself, ask someone verified to do it for you, and keep the proof.
